kentucky wedding photography, kelly & jarvie
I know, I know. I sound like a broken record. But I can't help it. I love my job. Photographing weddings
is amazing enough and then you add some all-star karaoke and sushi from heaven to the mix? My job
goes from great to insane. Kelly and Jarvie had one of those "we'll be talking about this wedding for
years" kind of weddings. They currently reside in Colorado (the groom's cake was a skier going down a
slope with a "Vail" sign at the summit) and brought their friends in from all over the states to the
Headley-Whitney museum for a party beyond parties. What's the word for an event that is wilder,
crazier and hotter than a party? Whatever it is, that's what Kelly and Jarvie had Saturday. I didn't get
to meet Kelly and Jarvie until the wedding day, but when I met them, I felt immediately at home. They
were so warm and expressive the entire day.
I love mom's expression as Kelly gets her shoes on.
Comparing their... best man buttons. (Which I was so happy to see! You, Me and Dupree, baby!)
Telling secrets during the ceremony.
Kelly did her best to hold back the tears as she delivered her vows.
More of a lucky grab than anything else, but here's a shot of Jarvie winking at Kelly.
They stopped outside the church to embrace.
Then it was time to go back around for their official exit.
Nothing says vintage like a Bentley.
And nothing says Kentucky like white fences.
This was one of my favorite moments the entire day. While they were waiting to be introduced into the
tent, they had a moment alone. Probably, the first one all day. I hid behind a tree and shot through
the foliage. I felt like a National Geographic photographer. The only thing I was missing was the camo.
The reception details were stunning.
Having a little fun with a ring shot.
Jarvie giving Kelly a little lovin'.
Jarvie's brother-in-law, Chris, flawlessly performed a personalized version of "Sweet Caroline" entitled,
"Sweet Kelly". Neil Diamond never sounded so good.
With it as hot as it was, a popular hang out spot was in front of the air conditioners.
I don't care how expensive this dress was, I'm going to slide across the floor in it.
While everybody was dancing, we saw how many people we could cram into the frame of my camera.
They finally shut the band down at midnight per county ordinance but that didn't stop the party. They
started into "You've lost that lovin' feeling." (Like I said, this party was awesome.)
