kentucky wedding photography, kelly & jarvie

I know, I know.  I sound like a broken record.  But I can't help it.  I love my job. Photographing weddings
is amazing enough and then you add some all-star karaoke and sushi from heaven to the mix?  My job
goes from great to insane.  Kelly and Jarvie had one of those "we'll be talking about this wedding for
years" kind of weddings.  They currently reside in Colorado (the groom's cake was a skier going down a
slope with a "Vail" sign at the summit) and brought their friends in from all over the states to the
Headley-Whitney museum for a party beyond parties.  What's the word for an event that is wilder,
crazier and hotter than a party?  Whatever it is, that's what Kelly and Jarvie had Saturday.  I didn't get
to meet Kelly and Jarvie until the wedding day, but when I met them, I felt immediately at home.  They
were so warm and expressive the entire day.

I love mom's expression as Kelly gets her shoes on.

Kelly did her best to hold back the tears as she delivered her vows.

More of a lucky grab than anything else, but here's a shot of Jarvie winking at Kelly.

They stopped outside the church to embrace.

Then it was time to go back around for their official exit.

Nothing says vintage like a Bentley.

And nothing says Kentucky like white fences.
07-26-08-450

This was one of my favorite moments the entire day.  While they were waiting to be introduced into the
tent, they had a moment alone.  Probably, the first one all day.  I hid behind a tree and shot through
the foliage.  I felt like a National Geographic photographer.  The only thing I was missing was the camo.

The reception details were stunning.

Jarvie's brother-in-law, Chris, flawlessly performed a personalized version of "Sweet Caroline" entitled,

With it as hot as it was, a popular hang out spot was in front of the air conditioners.

I don't care how expensive this dress was, I'm going to slide across the floor in it.

While everybody was dancing, we saw how many people we could cram into the frame of my camera.
07-26-08-740

They finally shut the band down at midnight per county ordinance but that didn't stop the party.  They
started into "You've lost that lovin' feeling."  (Like I said, this party was awesome.)

louisville wedding photography, erica & mike

I shot another rocking fun wedding on Saturday.  Erica and Mike got married in Middletown and headed
over to Churchill Downs for their reception.  There was a really beautiful feeling the whole day.  Part of it
was Mike and Erica's expressions whenever they looked at each other.  And part of it was knowing that
Emily and I will be celebrating our 5 year anniversary this week.  We were all warm and fuzzy!  (Happy
Anniversary Emily!)  Here are some of my favorite images from the wedding.

Dad was just as emotional as Erica.  I love it when dad's are soft!

Erica had this deep, beautiful expression on her face through the entire ceremony.  It reminded me of
how I felt on my wedding day.

louisville wedding photography, carey & brad

I had been looking forward to Carey and Brad's wedding for a long time.  And so had Carey, who has
been dating Brad for the past eight years.  But this wedding goes to show you that good things come to
those who wait.  Not only was the wedding off the hook awesome, but Brad and Carey have such
a good vibe going.  Their wedding was an absolute blast and I loved seeing all the anticipation and
emotion unfold.  Here are a few of my favorite frames from the wedding day.

Carey's grandmother checks out the rings.

What wedding would be complete without ring bearers playing game boys?

The two younger girls changed out of their white dresses to eat some McDonald's.  I like what is written

to practice their first dance.

The Henry Clay was stunning as always.  (And look at those cakes.  Their were six of them!)

This booty-shaker is Jeremy, whose wedding I shot in December of 2006.  Jeremy and Emily just had a
beautiful baby a few weeks ago.  Welcome to the world Brodie.  (By the way, your dad is crazy!)

The party got crazier and crazier as the night went on and culminated in a Brad ambush.

kentucky wedding photography, cody & billy

Things have been utterly crazy over the last few weeks and I'm a little behind on blogging.  I can't spill
the beans just yet about the great news coming for the business, but things are really getting exciting
around here.  And I promise to catch up. :)  First, we've got Cody and Billy's wedding.  I met Cody
through David and Lisa, whose wedding I shot in November.  (I love it when I get to see past clients at
weddings.  So fun!)  It was my first time in Pikeville, so I made sure I got there early to take a look
around.

Pikeville, the cleanest city in East Kentucky.

lauren & patrick, a few details

Totally slipped my mind that I wanted to post some detail shots into Lauren and Patrick's wedding post.
Oops.  Rather than just slip them into an older post, here's a brand-spanking-new post with some of
their off the hook details.

The flowers, the dress and the Choos. :)

The Henry Clay looked insane (as always).

Happy Wednesday.
