shopping with the family

On Friday, I took the complete day off.  I didn't answer my phone, I didn't check my email, I didn't turn
on the computer.  Instead of work, my day was filled with time with my family.  What a great way to
spend a day off.  The day consisted of:

- blueberry pancakes
- reading the velveteen rabbit to the girls (several times)
- swimming at the pool (Avery calls it" the swimming cool")
- some long overdue yard work/washing the windows
- dinner at my favorite restaurant, Stoney River.  (Lodge Filet and those rolls, need I say more?)

After dinner, we did some shopping.  Emily has me on this quest to find some sunglasses that actually
fit my goofy noggin and I think we found some.  Sorry, no pics of me with the shades on.  I know you're
just dying to see them.  :)  However I did manage to grab some photos of the girls.

family time at the beach

I had the opportunity to shoot up to one of my favorite places in all the world a few days ago.  It's a lazy
little town called South Haven on the coast of Lake Michigan.  Here are some fun images of Avery and
Lerran, our two daughters.

We met this really cool pit bull named Conan while playing on the beach.

While Avery played in the water ahead, Lerran was getting sleepy in mom's arms. 

I'm digging this black and white of the pier.  Maybe I'll do a fine art print for the office.

We got back to the condo and Avery and I threw the disc in the backyard.  I love this shot because
moments before, she just chucked the frisbee right at my face while I had a camera in one hand.  She
laughed because she almost knocked me over.

Just had to send the Detroit Tigers some blog love.  I have been hiding in a hole for over a week since the
Tigers started the season 0 and 7.  Who knows what the season holds for this team, but they now have
their first win of the season.  So what if it took them longer than any other team in either league?  Here's
to many, many more!
