Renee, a fabulous bride from September, sent this video to me. I think it's hilarious.
As I alluded to several days ago, Emily and I took little trip to Phoenix. We met up with my parents for 4 days of relaxation away from the frosty Midwest. We had an absolutely wonderful time catching up with my 'rents and spending a little time away from the kids. (Though we were VERY ready to see them by day two of the trip.) I did not bring my camera gear on the trip. However, I did manage to take some photos with my iPhone.
This is par 5 15 at TPC, with the McDowell Mountains in the background. The big dogs play here for the FBR Open, formerly the Phoenix Open. I crushed a drive and hit 5-iron pin high into a trap, right. And managed to still make bogey by hitting two out of the trap and two-putting. The story of my life. Dad played a great round that day, shooting one-over on the back for a 78.
A cool looking cactus near the clubhouse.
The view out our balcony every night.
The real reason I went out West.
Emily and I went on a great hike up Pinnacle Peak. It was a great leisurely hike with some great vistas.
A view from the highest point on the trail.
Emily and me all sweaty from the hike.
While taking the picture, Emily walked a little too close to a very sharp cactus that apparently had not had breakfast yet. Believe everything they tell you about how painful cactus needles are!
Thanks for looking!
Now I'm really beginning to catch up on blogging! Here is a wedding I shot in Lexington earlier this month. Brad and Kristin were married at St. Peter's and had their reception at the Mansion at Griffin Gate.
Kristin could hardly contain the emotion as Brad approaches.
This bridesmaid's heel got stuck between bricks. Who said wearing heels was easy?
I liked the simplicity of this image.
Before the ceremony, Kristin and her father hold hands.
For you dashboard lovers out there. Feast your eyes on this '55 Bel Air, used as Brad and Kristin's getaway car.
I love this shot because it looks like it could have been taken 60 years ago.
Giving the thumbs up before the ceremony.
Offering prayers for the couple.
Heading around back afterwards.
Sitting in the back of the '55.
The best man and maid gave the guests something to laugh about.
This is the response you get when a father of the bride refers to his new son-in-law as a "man of action" in reference to having grandchildren.
The party really got hot when a bunch of girls from the family flooded the dance floor with beer cans on their heads. Turns out one of Kristin's aunts danced with a full bottle of beer on her head.
David and Lisa got married earlier this month in Lexington. It was a great wedding and what made it even more interesting was the UK game going on just down the road from the church. Traffic was crazy and made several important people almost miss the wedding. The reception was at the Lexington Center which is adjacent to Rupp Arena. On our adventure from the church to the reception, David and Lisa was swarmed by Wildcat fans wearing white and blue. Such fun!
Lisa's expression was priceless as mom yanked on the back of her dress.
While the girls finished getting ready, the ringbearer spun a quarter.
They had a moment alone on the church steps before the ceremony.
The guys killed the time playing hangman. In case you can't see what he's written so far, it's _ _ BRICANT. If anybody asks, I have no idea what the word is. :-)
I love how the groomsmen fill the foreground of this image.
Immediately after the ceremony, David and Lisa stop in the stairwell for a kiss.
Lisa was cracking everybody up as she liberally sliced and diced her way through the cake.
I really like this shot because of all of the characters involved. The man on the right taking the picture was awesome. Over and over, he would dance for a few measures and then stop and take a picture.
Finally a garter that the guys actually wanted to catch.
