louisville wedding, lauren & kyle

Warning.  I'm about to post a ton of images from a wedding.  I'm sorry, but that's what you get when you have as much fun on your wedding day as Lauren and Kyle.  (And when your wedding looks this amazing!)  Lauren and Kyle were SO much fun (laid back, hilarious, dancing machines!) and their wedding was one I won't forget.  Lauren is a bit of an event planner herself so she knew exactly what she wanted and how to get it.  I've got to give some props to some of my favorite vendors because they did such an amazing job with this wedding.  First and foremost, Beth Penner Torstrick and her entourage (Tammy, Carol, Lauren and Joanie) did an amazing job working with Lauren to get all the details perfect.  Wayne Esterle of In Bloom Again continues to blow my mind with what he can do with flowers (and rocks and moss and everything else.)

The yellow leaves outside the salon were gorgeous.

Lauren showed her great sense of humor as a bobby pin entered her skull.

I love this moment as Lauren got a hug from mom as she got ready.

I caught this photographer chimping during the ceremony.  Photographers call it "chimping" because when we look at the backs of our cameras, it's typically accompanied with monkey noises (ooh, ooh, ahh, ahh).

Loved the expressions from Lauren and her matron of honor, Holly.

With one small gesture, Kyle lets his buddies know it's all good.

Lauren came up with this rhyme for their beer koozies.

I really like this shot of Kyle and Lauren at Hurstbourne Country Club.

This wedding was DETAILICIOUS!

I also really liked how they put the place cards on a table filled with rocks and moss.

The wedding party entertained the guests as they entered the tent.

The toasts were great!

Lauren scored major points by getting the party started and staying on the dance floor all night.

Here's a shot of the party tent during a polka.  The band was City Lights Orchestra out of Nashville.  They were really solid.

My ears are still ringing from this shot.

You can quickly see why Lauren is so much fun when you get to know her family.  In this shot, her uncle is waving his hands at me yelling, "No photos please!"

Everybody was kung-fu fighting.  Ha!
102007578_2

Lauren and Kyle showed their Cincinnati love by bringing out silver trays filled with White Castle burgers.  Nice touch!

Another highlight of the night was watching everybody melodramatically sing, "Total Eclipse of the Heart".

louisville wedding, jennifer & keegan

It's been 13 days since my last post.  I've got a lot of great stuff to show you!  Last Saturday, I shot a great wedding downtown at the newly renovated Henry Clay.  Jennifer and Keegan currently live in D.C. and came back to Louisville to get married.  It was great working with their wedding coordinator Ellen Fox for the second week in a row.  This girl is everywhere and knows how to plan great weddings!

The flowers.

Jennifer immediately noticed Keegan's bow tie.  I was really impressed when I saw him tie it himself!

Commonwealth Musicians (502-777-4789) were amazing and played a moving rendition of my favorite piece, Ashokan Farewell.

Keegan proves yet again that cutting the cake isn't as easy as it looks.

Keegan and some buddies lit up a few stogies outside.

This photo shows how much fun Keegan and Jennifer are.  They spontaneously gave each other "Blue Steel" during a little photo shoot outside.  And if you don't know what "Blue Steel" is, go rent Zoolander now.

A little later, they erupted in laughter after they noticed some friends trying to distract them with a game of adult charades.

keeneland engagement, david, lisa and a real horse

On Sunday, I met David and Lisa over at Keeneland for their engagement session.  They surprised me by showing up in this amazing '65 Mustang.  Turns out, it was David's mother's first car.  We took it out to the fields and had a fun little photo shoot.  I can't wait for their November wedding in downtown Lexington.

For some reason, this shot reminds me of Back to the Future.

louisville wedding, rosanna & ryan

Rosanna and Ryan got married at Whitehall Mansion this past Saturday.  It was such a great wedding.  Ellen and Anissa of ShaFox did an amazing job with the event and details.  The flowers were done by In Bloom again.  But the food.  Oh the food was incredible.  If you don't know me, I'll let you in on a little secret.  Food is my love language.  So when I see amazing food at a wedding, it makes my heart happy.  Rosanna's family owns the fabulous Vincenzo's Italian restaurant downtown.  So it was no surprise the food was top notch.  First course, goat cheese ravioli.  Second, mixed greens salad with rosemary roasted pears.  Third course, orange rosemary grilled prawns and the tastiest lamb chops you've ever sunk your teeth into.  Then it was onto cheeses and breads and chocolates and a cake by Virginia Mertz.  Where was I?  Oh, the wedding.  :-)  Here are some of my favorite images from the wedding.

This is Aaron and his rocking band, V-Groove.  (My favorite wedding band in Louisville.  They know how to rock the party and keep it coming.)
